fea.domain — Create a typed RunMat FEA physics domain.
fea.domain(kind, Name, Value, ...) creates thermo-mechanical, electro-thermal, electromagnetic, or CFD domain data for a RunMat FEA model.
Syntax
domain = fea.domain(kind, Name, Value, ...)Inputs
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
kind | StringScalar | Yes | — | Physics-domain kind. |
Name, Value | Any | Variadic | — | Typed fields for the selected domain kind. |
Returns
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
result | Any | FEA object or operation result. |
Errors
| Identifier | When | Message |
|---|---|---|
RunMat:fea:LoadFailed | A .fea document cannot be read, parsed, or resolved. | fea: failed to load FEA document |
RunMat:fea:InvalidInput | A builtin receives an unsupported argument pattern or object type. | fea: invalid input |
RunMat:fea:OperationFailed | A validation, planning, run, result-query, comparison, or trend operation fails. | fea: operation failed |
RunMat:fea:Internal | An FEA object or operation result cannot be converted to a RunMat value. | fea: internal error |
How fea.domain works
- The domain kind selects the supported field set; unknown fields are rejected before object construction.
- Finite real numeric physical fields accept all eight built-in integer classes. Exact integer values are retained until one host-only binary64 model-storage conversion, so sufficiently wide integers can round.
- A nested thermo-field-source
revisionis a structural nonnegative integer and remains exact rather than crossing the physical-value binary64 boundary. - Resident numeric fields are rejected because domain construction does not perform provider execution.
Example
Create a CFD domain
domain = fea.domain("cfd", "ReferenceDensityKgPerM3", uint16(1), "InletVelocityMPerS", int16(12));Using fea.domain with coding agents
Open a RunMat example with live inputs, then ask the agent to explain how fea.domain changes the result.
Run a small fea.domain example, explain the result, then change one input and compare the output.
FAQ
Does revision become binary64?⌄
No. Revision is structural model identity and is validated and stored as an exact nonnegative integer.
