issortedrows — Determine whether matrix or table rows are sorted.
issortedrows(A) returns true when A is already in the row order produced by sortrows(A).
Syntax
tf = issortedrows(A)
tf = issortedrows(A, args...)Inputs
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
A | Any | Yes | — | Input matrix, character matrix, complex matrix, or table. |
args | Any | Variadic | — | Column, direction, comparison, and missing-placement options. |
Returns
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
tf | LogicalArray | True when rows are sorted according to the requested row order. |
Errors
| Identifier | When | Message |
|---|---|---|
RunMat:issortedrows:InvalidInput | Input or row-sorting arguments are invalid. | issortedrows: invalid input |
How issortedrows works
- Supports the same row ordering arguments as
sortrows, including column and direction arguments for supported inputs.
Example
Check sorted rows
tf = issortedrows([1 2; 2 3])Expected output:
tf = trueUsing issortedrows with coding agents
Open a RunMat example with live inputs, then ask the agent to explain how issortedrows changes the result.
Run a small issortedrows example, explain the result, then change one input and compare the output.
