cdfplot — Plot an empirical cumulative distribution function.
cdfplot(x) plots the empirical cumulative distribution function for a numeric vector. The empirical CDF at a value t is the fraction of non-NaN observations less than or equal to t.
Syntax
cdfplot(x)
cdfplot(ax, x)
h = cdfplot(___)
[h, stats] = cdfplot(___)Inputs
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
y | Any | Yes | — | Sample data vector. |
ax | AxesHandle | Yes | — | Target axes handle. |
Returns
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
h | NumericScalar | Handle to the empirical CDF plot line. |
stats | Any | Summary statistics structure. |
Returned values from cdfplot depend on how many outputs the caller requests.
Errors
| Identifier | When | Message |
|---|---|---|
RunMat:cdfplot:InvalidArgument | Inputs or axes arguments are malformed. | cdfplot: invalid argument |
RunMat:cdfplot:Internal | RunMat cannot construct summary statistics or plots. | cdfplot: internal error |
Example
Plot an empirical CDF and read summary stats
[h,stats] = cdfplot([1;2;2;3])Using cdfplot with coding agents
Open a RunMat example with live inputs, then ask the agent to explain how cdfplot changes the result.
Run a small cdfplot example, explain the result, then change one input and compare the output.
