convolution1dLayer — Create a 1-D convolution layer compatibility object.

convolution1dLayer(filterSize,numFilters) creates metadata for 1-D convolution layers.

Syntax

layer = convolution1dLayer(filterSize, numFilters)
layer = convolution1dLayer(filterSize, numFilters, Name, Value)

How convolution1dLayer works

  • filterSize and numFilters must be positive integers.
  • Stride defaults to 1; Padding defaults to same.
  • Common convolution name-value options are preserved as properties.

GPU memory and residency

Layer construction is host metadata work. Convolution execution kernels remain future training/inference work.

Example

Create 1-D Convolution

layer = convolution1dLayer(3, 16, 'Padding', 'causal', 'Name', 'conv')

Expected output:

1-D convolution layer compatibility object.

Using convolution1dLayer with coding agents

Open a RunMat example with live inputs, then ask the agent to explain how convolution1dLayer changes the result.

Run a small convolution1dLayer example, explain the result, then change one input and compare the output.
