trainingOptions — Create a training options compatibility object.

trainingOptions(solver) creates host metadata for common Deep Learning Toolbox training configuration.

Syntax

opts = trainingOptions(solver)
opts = trainingOptions(solver, Name, Value)

How trainingOptions works

  • solver accepts sgdm, adam, or rmsprop.
  • Common options such as MaxEpochs, MiniBatchSize, InitialLearnRate, Shuffle, Verbose, Plots, and ExecutionEnvironment are stored as properties.
  • trainNetwork and trainnet consume sgdm and adam options for the supported in-memory feed-forward training slice.
  • rmsprop options are accepted as metadata, but RMSProp execution is not implemented yet and raises an explicit training error.

GPU memory and residency

Training option construction is host metadata work and has no provider kernel.
