movmad — Compute moving median absolute deviation.

movmad(A, k) computes the median absolute deviation inside a centered moving window of length k.

How movmad works

  • Numeric vectors and matrices are supported.
  • The first non-singleton dimension is used by default; dimension 1 or 2 may be supplied as an argument or "dim", value.
  • "omitnan" ignores NaN values inside each moving window; "includenan" propagates NaN when present.

Moving MAD over a column

M = movmad([1; 2; 100; 4; 5], 3)

Expected output:

M = [0.5; 1; 2; 1; 0.5]
