How xmlread works
- Parses XML text from the active RunMat filesystem provider and rejects malformed XML with mismatched, unterminated, or missing root tags.
- Returns an org.w3c.dom.Document-compatible object with Filename, Text, DocumentElementName, and DocumentElement properties.
- DocumentElement is an org.w3c.dom.Element-compatible object exposing NodeName, TagName, TextContent, Attributes, and ChildNodes properties.
- This is a lightweight DOM compatibility layer; Java method dispatch is not yet a full W3C DOM implementation.
Using xmlread with coding agents
Open a RunMat example with live inputs, then ask the agent to explain how xmlread changes the result.
Run a small xmlread example, explain the result, then change one input and compare the output.
