uint8 — Convert values to unsigned 8-bit integer class.
uint8(X) converts numeric, logical, character, symbolic-constant, and real gpuArray inputs to unsigned 8-bit integer values using saturating rounded conversion.

How uint8 works
- Rounds fractional floating-point values to the nearest integer and clamps the result to the uint8 range.
- Converts all eight integer classes directly from native storage without a floating-point intermediate.
- Clamps negative values and
NaNto0, and clamps values above255to255. - Preserves array shape. A complex host input remains complex when its converted imaginary component is zero.
- Real gpuArray inputs return provider-owned native uint8 storage; complex gpuArray conversion requires provider support for paired complex-integer storage.
